At the Innovation Awards ceremony of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia – Regional Chamber Koroška, Kopa d.d. received the silver award for 2025 for the innovation PRO-FIT – a system for recognizing successful patterns of production competencies.
Behind the project is a dedicated team: Aleš Pelc, Dušan Krahulec, Marko Popič, Žiga Švent, and Domen Ocepek, who are helping shape the future of smart industry in Slovenia with their expertise.
What is PRO-FIT?
PRO-FIT is an advanced system for identifying competencies in manufacturing, based on artificial intelligence and large language models (LLMs). The main purpose of the solution is to automatically detect and structure employee competencies from various production-related sources.
Sources from which PRO-FIT gathers data:
production documentation, instructions, plans, and specifications,
productivity data,
task execution reports,
monthly work reports,
complaints and quality data,
CVs and project documentation.
The system enables:
accurate tracking of individual competencies,
optimized team allocation in production,
increased productivity and reduced errors,
improved decision-making by managers based on concrete data.
Why is PRO-FIT an important innovation?
With the rise of Industry 4.0, new challenges are emerging in managing production knowledge and competencies. PRO-FIT enables companies to turn scattered data into smart insights – for better decisions and more efficient work.
